The Breast Center

The Breast Center at St. Joseph's, in conjunction with the Women's Care Center, offers a multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.  Surgical specialists in image-guided breast surgery, utilizing state-of-the- art stereotactic and ultrasound imaging can provide a virtually painless diagnosis of both benign disease and breast cancer without taking their patients to the operating room.  A treatment plan for breast cancer patients is developed by a team of surgeons, medical oncologists and radiation oncologists. A full range of treatment options including lumpectomy and mastectomy are available. Sentinel lymph node biopsy is performed with radioisotope and blue-dye lymphoscintigraphy in the operating room.  Postoperative care is delivered in the dedicated oncology unit by certified oncology nurses. Social services are also available to the patients.  For information regarding referrals and appointments call: 602-406-3165.
