Phil Pomeroy, Vice President of Neurosciences
Phil Pomeroy is the administrator for the Barrow Neurological Institute, one of the leading neuroscience institutes in the world. His responsibilities include business development, strategic planning, marketing, physician recruitment, and major capital equipment acquisition.
Prior to his coming to Barrow and St Joe’s, he and his staff provided the marketing and planning support for a $1.2 billion eleven-hospital integrated health care system headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. Mr. Pomeroy’s career includes heading a specialty consulting firm that provided sales and marketing management consulting to hospitals across the country. His professional experience in industry includes over 10 years with the 3M Company, Rubbermaid Commercial (Medical) Products, and Kimberly-Clark Corporation, Surgical Products Division in sales and marketing roles.
He is a past Board member for Carl Zeiss Surgical, North America. He has previously served on the boards of the American Heart Association Phoenix Metro Division, the American Hospital Association Society for Healthcare Strategy & Market Development (SHSMD), and the Leukemia Society of America, Alabama Chapter. He has also been an examiner for the Alabama U.S. Senate Productivity and Quality Award. Mr. Pomeroy regularly speaks on service line development and physician relations. He has consulted with hospitals and corporations regarding strategic planning, quality improvement, sales and marketing programs.
He received his B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Iowa.
