John Boyd, Chief Medical Officer


John Boyd is Chief Medical Officer for St. Joseph’s and has been with the hospital seven years. He began his career at St. Joseph’s as Pediatric Residency Training Program Director and later became Chief Pediatric Officer of the Children’s Health Center, finally assuming the duties of Chief Medical Officer in 2006. He also currently is a clinical associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and associate clinical professor of pediatrics at Creighton University School of Medicine.

Dr. Boyd’s previous experience includes forming the Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine Associates in Rome, New York and serving as the co-medical director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Boyd received his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and his medical degree from Upstate Medical Center. He earned his Master of Business Administration in Health Services Management at the University of Dallas. Dr. Boyd completed his internship at the University of Texas Medical Branch and his second and third year residency at Upstate Medical Center. He completed his fellowship training in Ambulatory Pediatrics at Upstate Medical Center and in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital.
