Minimally invasive surgery is laparoscopic procedures which utilize a lens instrument inserted through a small incision. Minimally invasive surgery most times results in a shorter hospital stay and quicker recovery as the abdominal muscles are not cut. There are many surgical procedures that can be preformed laproscopically but your surgeon will need to assess your medical condition in order to decide if it is appropriate for you.
