Our practice is dedicated to female pelvic pain and advanced gynecologic surgery. Dr. Michael Hibner, director of ACCPP, is a fellowship trained advanced gynecologic surgeon who specializes in diagnosis and treatment of all conditions leading to female chronic pelvic pain. As an advanced pelvic surgeon, Dr. Michael Hibner performs all gynecologic procedures using microinvasive approach such as laparosopy or vaginal surgery. Those routes greatly shorten postoperative recovery, decrease pain, and improve cosmetic outcomes. Arizona Center for Chronic Pelvic Pain specializes in treating multiple conditions such as endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, pelvic congestion syndrome, pelvic floor tension myalgia, adenomyosis, postoperative adhesions, pain caused by previous pelvic surgery, pudendal nerve entrapment and obturator nerve neuralgia.

Surgical procedure is possibly one of the more stressful events in anyone’s life. Choosing the surgeon and the hospital to have surgery may be quite difficult, especially that are many hospitals and well trained physicians to choose from. Arizona Center for Chronic Pelvic Pain and Minimally Invasive Pelvic Surgery specializes in advanced and complicated surgical procedures. Our institution is one of only three in United States where we perform surgical decompression of injured pudendal nerve, and patients from all over North America come to St. Joseph’s to have this surgery done. We are also one of the very few institutions in the country to perform laparoscopic Vecchietti procedure. We are also a fellowship training site for Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. Our fellowship is one of eighteen fellowships accredited by American Academy of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. When you choose to have surgery in our practice, you are choosing to have it done by a surgeon who not only dedicates his practice solely to pelvic surgery, but by one who has trained many gynecologic surgeons himself.

Appointments

After you schedule an appointment with one of our providers, you will receive a packet in the mail. Please complete this prior to your visit and bring it with you. It may include your demographic information as well as questionnaires depending on the reason for your visit. It is very important that you complete these prior to your visit to enable us to help you. If you do not receive your packet two weeks after making your appointment, please contact our office and we can send you another one.

Please plan on arriving at our office at least 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. You may park in the 6th Avenue parking garage. We are located in the McAuley Office building at 500 W. Thomas Road, Suite 800 on the 8th floor. Please see the hospital map for directions. Please check in with the receptionist and then the medical assistant will escort you to one of our providers. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance so we may fill your appointment time as some patients wait several months for an appointment.

Many of our patients are on long term pain medications. We will prescribe narcotics for short term use only, if you need long term pain medications, we will co-manage your care with pain management specialists. Please see our Narcotic Agreement.

The office is staffed Monday through Friday, but our providers do not typically schedule patients on Friday. If a question arises, out staff will be able to handle most questions and can also contact a provider if necessary. If you have an after hours urgent call, dial our regular office number, 602-406-6017 and our answering service will reach one of our providers. If there is an emergency, please dial 911.
