Women’s Wellness Center
A woman should be actively involved in making sure she is at her best health. We encourage every woman to have a relationship with her primary care physician so that if concerns arise, the two of them can, as a team, make the best decisions. If you don’t already have a primary care physician, call the ResourceLink at 1-877-602-4111. At our Women’s Wellness Center, we provide mammograms, pap smears, pelvic exams, and free breast exams. We also focus on teaching women ways to improve their overall health, including reducing risk of heart disease and reducing their cancer risks, including risks of skin cancer, cervical cancers, and colorectal cancers. We provide services to low-income, uninsured women. For more information on the Women’s Wellness Center, please call 602-406-6570.
Menopause
There is no magic age at which women can expect to enter menopause, just as there is no specific set of symptoms that define this stage in a woman’s life. Menopause is not a medical condition, but is a natural change a woman’s body goes through. And every woman goes through it in her own way. Menopause itself requires no medical treatment, but the symptoms of menopause – such as hot flashes and night sweats, irregular vaginal bleeding, emotional and cognitive problems and other physical changes – can be eased through a variety of treatments and lifestyle changes. At the Women’s Wellness Center, our providers will counsel patients on the best options for easing and preventing the symptoms of menopause through treatments that may include a combination of hormone therapies, alternative therapies, non-hormone therapies and other medical and pharmaceutical therapies, as well as through lifestyle changes.
Cancer
The Division of Gynecologic Oncology provides comprehensive, multi-disciplinary services for the evaluation and treatment of women's cancers including endometrial, ovarian, cervical, vulvar, vaginal and gestational trophoblastic disease. Our Division is a leader in advanced technologies such as minimally invasive surgery for endometrial and cervical cancer using the da Vinci surgical robot and intraperitoneal chemotherapy for the best possible long term remission of ovarian cancer. The Division has affiliates in the East and West Valley so that patients requiring ongoing care may opt to have it closer to home while still remaining under the care of members of the Division.
