Clinical trials evaluate many types of treatments such as new drugs, new surgical techniques or radiation therapy, new combinations of treatments, or new clinical methods. The goal of the research is to find better ways to treat cancer. Clinical trials include research at four different phases. Each phase answers different questions about the new treatment.
St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center and Barrow Neurological Institute have an extensive clinical trial program and has the largest accrual of patients in the Radiation Therapy Oncology Group Trials.
To enhance patient care, our clinical trial coordinators work with the physician, patient and family to help access available clinical trials for which the patient may be eligible.
