Dedicated to the Health of Children

Located in the heart of Phoenix, St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is a 690-bed not-for-profit hospital that provides a wide range of health, social and support services with special advocacy for the poor and undeserved. Founded in 1895 by the Sisters of Mercy, it was the first hospital in the Phoenix area. St. Joseph's is recognized for its quality patient care, medical education and research. The hospital includes the inter-nationally known Barrow Neurological Institute®, St. Joseph's Children's Health Center (CHC), Heart & Lung Institute and the only Level I Trauma Center in Arizona verified by the American College of Surgeons.

The CHC is committed to preventing, diagnosing and treating the most complex childhood diseases, injuries and conditions in a compassionate and interdisciplinary setting. The hospital is an industry leader in pediatric care and has made car- in for the needs of children a priority for more than a century. From minor injuries to major surgeries, the CHC, which is the second-largest pediatric facility in the region, offers a full range of services, including trauma care, newborn and pediatric intensive care. The CHC also collaborates with Barrow to provide a myriad of pediatric neurological services and HLI for cardiac services.

The CHC is devoted to community, and national and international issues related to children’s health.
