Ravi Koopot, MD

Ravi Koopot, MD, is the Medical Director of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery in the Heart & Lung Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. He is board certified in general and cardiothoracic surgery and is a Fellow of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons.

He received his medical degree from Trivandrum Medical College in Kerala, India in 1963. He completed his residency in general surgery at Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Illinois from 1967 to 1971, and in cardiovascular surgery at Loyola University Hospital in 1971.

Dr. Koopot has served as a clinical fellow in cardiovascular surgery at the Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago in 1973. He held a previous position as chief of pediatric cardiovascular surgery at the Arizona Heart Institute. Prior to coming to St. Joseph’s, Dr. Koopot was in private practice in Phoenix.
