Orthopedics Department


 

The Orthopedic Department at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center is dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of injuries and disease that affect patients’ bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves. Established in 2005, the Orthopedic Department provides 24-hour coverage for all orthopedic problems, including inpatient consultations, Emergency Department coverage, and around-the-clock orthopedic trauma coverage for the busiest level 1 trauma center in the Valley. The outpatient clinic is dedicated to the management of elective, urgent, and emergent orthopedic conditions of all types.

The orthopedic physicians are all fellowship trained orthopedic surgeons with sub-specialty training in:

  • Orthopedic trauma
  • Adult and pediatric fracture care
  • Sports medicine
  • Arthroscopy
  • Total joint surgery
  • Foot and ankle surgery
  • Shoulder and elbow surgery
  • Cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine surgery

Pediatric Services

Our orthopedic specialists and surgeons now offer complete services for both adults and children. Pediatric conditions treated include:

  • Sports injuries or over-use syndromes, such as little league elbow, gymnast’s wrist, Sinding-Larsen-Johansson syndrome and Osgood schlatters disease
  • Spine disorders, such as scoliosis, spina bifida and kyphosis
  • Pediatric fractures
  • Pediatric trauma
  • Growth deformities, such as bow leggedness, intoeing, Perthes disease
  • Other pediatric conditions, such as club feet, hip dislocation, cerebral palsy
