Research Administration
The Office of Research Administration strives to ensure the integrity and ethics of the research conducted at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center. While administering and coordinating research programs, collaborative partnerships, effective educational training, and building confidence within the community, the Office of Research Administration is dedicated to enhancing the healing benefit of research discoveries.
Research at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center focuses on taking fundamental advances in biomedical research and applying them to improvements in healthcare. The Office of Research Administration at St. Joseph's collaborates closely with universities around the country to coordinate strategic planning in research, from basic laboratory- based research to patient-oriented clinical trials.
Joan Shapiro Ph.D, an experienced research administrator and sciecntist, is the Vice President for Research and Development at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center. As the administrator of the Office of Research Administration, Dr. Shapiro oversees the proper review and approval of research activities.
