Upcoming Programs

BABY SITTER TRAINING

This class will help young people prepare for their career as babysitters. Learn how to properly care for infants and children, including safety and accident prevention, emergency decision making, working well with parents, activity planning and CPR and First Aid. Participants will receive an American Safety and Health Institute Card and certificate and materials. To attend, please download and complete the Babysitter Training Form (PDF).

BOOT CAMP FOR NEW DADS

In this unique three-hour workshop, expectant and first-time dads learn what it is like to be a new dad from veteran dads with young babies. The workshop is for men only (no girls over 2-feet tall allowed!). Topics include caring for mom and the new baby, working as a team, and calming a crying baby among others. Participants are encouraged to ask their own questions about the changes ahead and get hands-on experience with the veterans' young babies. Classes are held the third Saturday of every month from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. The cost of the class is $20. Scholarships are available based on need. Call 602-406-3420 to register.

New Directions Institute for Infant Brain Development is presenting the latest information and techniques to "wire up" your young child’s brain for a successful future in a FREE four-hour workshop.  S*CCEEDS credit is available.  Attendees will receive a FREE brain development toy!
These free workshops are made possible by the generous donation from APS.  Classes are available in English and Spanish.

FACE IN THE MIRROR FOUNDATION partnering with St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center

Face in the Mirror and St. Joseph's Hospital & Medical Center give a beautiful tea party for the woman with cancer and her guest, on the first wednesday of each month.  This is a wonderful opportunity for women with cancer to celebrate life! And to make new friends. Also offered is a free bag of cosmetics/skin care products with a facial makeover and an interesting topic for discussion or learning is also a part of the day.  Our goal is to "change the face of cancer, one patient at a time."
