Program Overview
An integral part of St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center is the Barrow Neurological Institute (BNI). The BNI encompasses six divisions: Neurological Surgery, Neurology, Neuroanesthesiology, Neurobiology, Neuropathology and Neuroradiology. The objective of the BNI is to foster excellence in patient care, education and research.
The Neuroradiology Fellowship Program is a comprehensive one or two year, post-residency education program offered to board-qualified and board-certified Radiologists, which is accredited by ACGME. Each year, the program accepts five incoming Fellows. Currently, there are ten Fellows in the program, ten Neuroradiologists and three MR Physicists.
St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center is a Level 1 Trauma Center and home to the only Gamma Knife program in the region. Current imaging facilities at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center include 8 MRI units. One 3-Tesla unit is specifically used for research, three 3-Tesla units (one in the BNI OR), and four 1.5-Tesla units, as well as five CT scanners.
