The Biography of Gilmer J. Rodriguez, MD, MPH, FACP
Gilmer J. Rodriguez is the Chairman of
Continuing Medical Education and Chief of the Academic Hospitalist
Division at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Rodriguez
is also the Director of the Quality Programs for the Academic
Department of Internal Medicine and Lead Instructor for the
Internal Medicine Inpatient Blackboard.
Dr. Rodriguez received his Medical Degree
from the National University of Trujillo, Peru in 1990. He
completed his first Internal Medicine Residency Program at the
National University of Trujillo, where he also served as a Chief
Medical Resident in 1994. Then, he completed his second Internal
Medicine Residency Program at St. Mary's Hospital - University
of Rochester in 1997. Dr. Rodriguez received his Master's Degree in
General Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the Medical
College of Wisconsin in 2005.
Dr. Rodriguez is certified by the American Board
of Internal Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of
Physicians. He is a member of several committees
at St. Joseph's Hospital and
Medical Center including Continuing Medical Education,
Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Cardiac Quality Improvement and
Blackboard development. He is founder and Editor-in-Chief of the
St. Joseph's Hospital Academic Newsletter. Dr. Rodriguez has served
in several directorship positions in various medical institutions
and has served in quality committees at the county level.
