How to Apply

Application to the Pathology Residency Program must be made through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP), utilizing the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). To receive information from the NRMP, you may write to them at: 2450 N Street, NW, Suite 201, Washington, D.C. 20037-1141. All resident candidates must have a NRMP number. As an applicant, your role in the ERAS systems is as follows:

  • Contact each residency program you applied to for program requirements, information and deadlines.
  • Contact the designated Dean's office for ERAS software and instructions.
  • Complete the ERAS SWS Data Diskette.
  • If you should decide that you would like to proceed with your application, please insure that along with your ERAS application, you send your school transcripts, board scores and Dean's letter to ERAS.
  • Our program also requires three  (3) letters of recommendation, a current CV, your personal statement and a photograph.
  • Submit the student data diskette to your designated Dean's office for processing.
  • Make sure the application is complete, deadlines met and fees paid.
  • Once your application is complete and downloaded to our office, we will carefully review all information. A team composed of both faculty and current residents meet and discuss each applicant. If selected, you will receive a letter of instruction inviting you to come to Phoenix for an interview. Only those granted an interview will receive notification, you will be responsible for your own travel arrangements.
