Dr. Jeff Oliver
Pathology
Program Director Dr. Jeffrey Oliver is a native Iowan and graduated from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in 1983. He completed his combined anatomic and clinical pathology residency training at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center in 1987, where he was the first non-clinical resident to receive the institution's Upjohn Achievement Award as Outstanding Resident and Educator. After residency, he completed two years of fellowship training. He was an American Cancer Society fellow in hematopathology at the University of Utah in 1987-88. The following year, he completed a surgical pathology fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, while serving as faculty in the hematopathology section. He is double boarded by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and in Hematology. In 1989, he moved to Phoenix and joined Pathology Associates, Ltd. and the Department of Pathology at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center. He is the medical director of the hematology section. He served as Associate Director of the combined Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency program from 1989-2001. He has been the Program Director since July 2001.
